Campaigns, Advocacy and Networking
In Kenya, limited resources and a lack of education around healthy eating and healthcare leave many communities vulnerable. Advocacy for health rights remains low, contributing to ongoing injustices and inadequate care for those most affected. However, DAT is committed to changing this creating platforms across target counties to advocate for improved policies, focusing on sustainable solutions for prevention, management, and access to healthy, safe-produced foods.
Through our campaigns, DAT raises awareness about the importance of healthy eating across Kenyan communities. We ensure that people understand the direct role of safe, nutritious food in preventing and managing diabetes. DAT also works closely with health services to guarantee high-quality care for every patient and to prioritize treatment across all service levels.
Beyond awareness, DAT engages with governments at both county and national levels to enact and enforce relevant legislation and policies. Citizens are therefore empowered to advocate for better healthcare and access to safe, nutritious food for their households and communities.
By combining efforts in advocacy, networking, and public awareness, DAT drives positive change across Kenya, ensuring every Kenyan has the knowledge, support, and access needed for healthier living.
