DAT is committed to transforming these exclusionary norms by empowering women living with diabetes—who often experience poorer management outcomes—and equipping young people with tools and leadership to lead healthy communities.

Evidence shows that women commonly manage lower household nutrition and carry the burden of caregiving, yet have limited access to health resources. Youth are often excluded from decision-making on their own health. DAT therefore adopts a deliberate, systematic approach to dismantling these barriers, ensuring women and young people are not only included but empowered to shape diabetes-care solutions and community wellbeing.
